Study Notes:  “A Christ Centered Home”

Over the summer, I will be sharing selected studies from my Bible-Book Study “A Christ Centered Home.”   The studies were conducted over a three-month period and included  the book “Christian Living in the Home” by Dr. Jay Adams, supporting biblical texts, Hebrew and Greek Word Studies,  the Westminster Confession of Faith and Shorter Catechism, and Reformed commentary by noted theologians.

“This study teaches us how we as Christians apply the Bible in practical matters in our daily life, in our home, with our spouses and  children, and in family life. It teaches us to apply them from a theological and biblical viewpoint. It further teaches us that we are to use the Bible “nouthetically” (confrontationally) and that we do not use worldly wisdom or philosophy, psychoheresy, psychobabble, or other error or methods to determine how we are to live as Christians. The Bible, and the Bible only, defines how we think and act.”_TheologyGirl

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”  2Tim 3:16-17

  1. Sounds like an ambitious undertaking as practical Christianity is the most difficult to teach. God bless your efforts.

  2. Thanks Brad. It was a huge undertaking and I taught over a two-year period in total. This study is selected sections of that study to get us back to “thinking and acting” biblically in a time of crisis in family life and “the world” front and center in our living rooms. God always blesses His Word and His people when they seek him for a Christ-centered life and home. Blessings
