Blogging Notes: The Cause of This Discrepancy Between God’s Gifts

Murray nails it in his summation and admonishment to us in the last paragraph of this text:

“…that we do not believe in the freedom and fullness of the Divine gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and strengthen us, and fill us with the life and grace of God all the day long… and…

“I want to say to you, that, if you are not living in the joy of God’s salvation, the entire cause is your unbelief. You do not believe in the mighty power of God, and that He is willing by His Holy Spirit to work a thorough change in your life, and enable you to live in fullness of consecration to Him. God is willing that you should so live; but you do not believe it. If men really believed in the infinite love of God, what a change it would bring about!”__Murray

There it is, plain and simple and one which we in our pride and conceit hate to admit.  We have unbelief in the promises and gifts of God.  He is worthy of all of our praise and thanksgiving and yet we praise and give thanks with hearts of unbelief and condemnation of God’s generosity and promises to us.  He IS truth and what He has done for us, in us, and for our eternity future is “Yes and Amen” and thus we blaspheme Him by not believing His Word and promises to us.   How shall we not exercise grace to Him and others to believe what He has said and done and what He has promised?  Let us confess to Him, renounce our unbelief and press toward the mark for His truth and as we continue in our study to apply that knowledge biblically for our good and His glory.

“God is omnipotent in love, and He is doing His utmost to fill every heart in this house.”_Murray
